At the 2015 Siuslaw High School Scholarship Awards Night, WLCF representatives board president Cindy Cable, Arlis Ulman and executive director Gayle Waiss presented 17 scholarships to students. The Joan Orr Scholarship went to Jonathan Griffes and Elizabeth Wartnik. The Jack and Bobbie Saubert Scholarship was awarded to COURTESY PHOTO Seth Campbell, and the Dick and Barbara Whitmore Siuslaw High School recipients at this year’s WLCF Scholarships Awards Night. Scholarship was presented to Jason Hight. Scholarship was given to ed the Noel and Mary Dobyns Scholarship was given to The Larry and Florence Joseph Dotson; and the Scholarship, and David Courtney King, and the Judd Englund Scholarship went to Johnston Family Scholarship Johnson earned the Elmer and Lucy Huntington Natalie Madden; the Hal and was awarded to Trey Cornish. Scholarship was presented to Waite Scholarship. Lee Hylton Memorial Natasha Nelson was award- The Art and Jean Koning Trey Cornish. The Cocciolo Family Scholarship was presented to Kennedy Roylance. Tyler Bendix received the Justin Black Scholarship. The Beachcomber Community Scholarships, (administered by WLCF) were awarded to Zachary Burkhart, Tyler Benedix and Natalie Madden. The Mapleton students who are awarded scholarships will be honored at their graduation. These scholarship funds rep- resent the WLCF’s ongoing mission of investing in the Western Lane Community’s youth by encouraging and sup- porting their desire to further their education. WLCF was founded in 1974 as a community trust, private nonprofit organization attract- ing, administering and distrib- uting private charitable resources for the benefit of res- idents of Western Lane County. Church youth to wash cars for camp funds Florence Evangelical Church is raising money to send children and youth to camp this summer. Members will be washing cars for donations this Saturday, June 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Oregon Pacific Bank, Highway 101 and 13th Street.
