SIUSLAW NEWS ❚ SATURDAY, APRIL 25, 2015 9 A I N BRIEF Kindergarten registration for fall 2015 within the Siuslaw School District will be through April 30, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day at Siuslaw Elementary School. Enrollees must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2015. Parents should bring proof of age and an immunization record. No child will be admitted or allowed to attend school in the fall without proof of age and immunizations. Bingo, sundaes at Ada Grange tonight The public is invited to bingo at Ada Grange tonight. Come for good food and family fun at 5 p.m.,with Bingo start- ing at 6 p.m. In celebration of “Grange Month,” enjoy an ice cream sundae at intermission. Buy books, help library today The Siuslaw Public Library Book Sale is today from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This sale will include only non-fiction books, such as cook books, how-to books, biogra- phies and other subjects. The sale will be in the Bromley Room at the Siuslaw Public Library. Cash, checks and cred- it cards will be accepted. All proceeds benefit the library. This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Siuslaw Public Library. Meetings are open to ukulele players of all levels and anyone interested in learning more about the club, as well as any- one who just wants to listen and/ or sing along. Pioneers of Faith to ROAR April 27-29 Aaron Auer with ROAR ministries will be sharing little- known history of Oregon, including Native American and early settler stories, items and clothing. Auer will be connecting this amazing heritage with today’s most important life issues. The event is free and open to everyone and to all ages. Church on the Rock to host Boutique The Lace Boutique Sale hosted by Church of the Rock, 1750 18th St. will be Saturday, May 2, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be handcrafted items and a bake sale. Roblan to speak to Dems May 2 Florence Area Democratic Club will hold a business meet- ing May 2, from 1 to 2 p.m., in the Bromley Room of the Siuslaw Public Library. Community Chorus to take stage May 3 May 3, at 2 p.m., the Com- munity Chorus of Florence will present “Hooray for Holly- wood” at the Florence Event Center. Special guests the Flotones and the Siuslaw Children’s Choir will perform. In addition, scholarships will be presented to deserving stu- dents. Meet the chief May 5 The City of Florence invites everyone to come meet Florence’s new Police Chief Tom Turner. Toastmasters to host workshop May 9 The Toastmasters club in Florence, Siuslaw Tale Spinners, will hold the second in their series of free communi- ty workshops on Saturday, May 9, from 1 to 3:30 p.m., at the Siuslaw Public Library. The workshop, Set Powerful Goals That Motivate You, will be held as part of the Open House program. Boardwalk Market re-opens May 16 The Florence Boardwalk Market’s 2015 season kickoff is Saturday, May 16. The mar- ket is located adjacent to the Port of Siuslaw Boardwalk at Bay and Nopal Streets.
