I Bent to him, myself, by a negro named Jack, who could talk French, and learned the terms on which the lnnd could be bought, and the next day Wilson came down and paid tbe money asked. He gave the fall price demanded by the Frenchman, with out abatement, a d tbe young fellow ap peared to be pleased at making so good a trade,.. , I - believe . Wilson- never bad any knowledge of the lander its owners save through me, and tbe above circum stances constitute all I know oftbe trans action. A to what tbe Frenchman bad except; mere possession, or as to', tbe claims of any other person, I knew nobb ing.
