Before nilit came on Captain Jack, the nmderer of General Canhy and Seoneliin, the mutilator of Meachani. were chained together and placed witli the other warriors in a small building adjoing Apple Hate's house, under a strong guard. Neither Jack nor Sconchin spoke a word, and not a muscle in Jack's face moved. The usual Sunday evening serv ices of the Warm Springs Indians were dispensed with, and instead thereof they held a glorious war dance until midnight. They leaped and howled ahout a tire and indulg ed in other frantic demonstrations The efforts to Christainize the "Warm Springs have been eminently suc cessful. The time is not far distant when most of the powerful and venomous drugs now so recklessly administered by praetitioners of the 'heroic' school, in eases that might easily le controlled bv milder treatment, will lie utterly dis carded bv all philosophical physicians. For more than twenty years this famous restorative and preventive has lxen annually strengthening its hold upon the public confidence, and it now takes the lead of every advertised medicine manufactured in this country.
