Based upon the h. c. of I. in gen eral, the taxpayers . of Oregon are faced inevitably with the higher cost of higher education. The people will vote May 21 on a measure submitted at the special session of the legislature that appro priates $511,000 a year to Univers ity of Oregon and $085,000 to the Or egon Agricultural College. The Ore gon Normal School also comes in for increased maintenance under the Fame bill. The issue is literally one of life or death 'for higher education in Ore gon, according to the officials of these institutions.
