The eleventh annual convention of the State Woolgrowers Associa tion to be held in Heppner on Nov ember 17-18, will be an important meeting. The meeting will be something m which Heppner is vi tally in e ested. Indications art that the meeting will be well at tended. Heppner will do every thing possible to make it pleasant for the delegates, and will help in every way to make the meeting a success. The meeting last yeai was held in TLe Dalles and 200 delegates were present. It it Loped that the attending here will be bigger than The Dalies ineetirg. Don't forget the big sale to com mence at Marquardsen's Depart ment store, next Saturday. Prices have been greatly reduced. Statistics throughout the state show that the wool clip of Oregon this j ear is 1,500,000 pounds ehort of last year, and the price averaged about fi.e cents less. Only about 310,0C0 pounds remain in the growers' hands. The total output of the state is estimated at 20.000, 000 pounds, valued at $2,500,000. As a primary shipping point, Shan iko heads the list with 3,000,000 pounds. Heppner comes second with 2,500,000 pounds to her credit. The Swedish-Finn society of Astoria, held a bisket auction Sat urday night for the purpose f raising money to assist a young m-tn to return to his native home in Finland. He" is sick with lung trouble, and his physician fen s thit ho cannot live long. The sum of $106.50 was raised which will le tur.ud over to him. a sum probably sufficient to carry him to Finland.
