Feese recently c mie to Salem to vrsif, and to night attended the Vaudette Theater, where f he met ber aunt,one of Goode's daughters, and the two went home to gether. Tbey passed Stanton, spoke to him and proceeded Inme. Stanton followed and entered tbe house, Miss Goode told bim to so away, but be refused, insisting upon seeing Mrs. Reese, wha bad gone upstairs When Miss Goode tried to telephone for an officer, Stanton drew a revolver ad threatened to shoot ber. Mr. Goode, who was in a rear room, slipped out of a back door to call an officer. Stanton heard him leave and ordered Miss Goode to call him back. After some delay she called, but he didn't respond, and Stan ton started after bim. At Orange Hall, corner of Centerand Commercial streets, Stanton found Goode at the telephone and shot bim three times, the bullets taking t fleet as above stated. Stanton fled and has not been captured. Mr. Goode fell to the floor and was taken home, where Dr. Morse attended him. Stanton is a youn man of idle habits and evil reputation, but was not cons'd ered desj erate. Mis crime was prob ably due to his being under the influence cf liquor.
