While Ellia lost Multnomah county, he was very strong in East ern Oregon and will have in the neighborhood of 2500 votes to spare. The father is chairman of the pchpol board, and the mother is clerk. E. Hess, of "Weyerhaueer, Wis. consin, is in the city. Mr. Hees owns a large bodv of land that has been logged off by the lumberjacks in early days, and while covered with brush, produces an abundance of fine grass. He is going to try the experi ment of grazing sheep on this land and is here for the purpose of buy ing 1000 head'of yearling wethere to take back with him. If the experiment proves to be a success, Mr. Hess will graze several thousand head on his holdings. Even the owner of 1000 head would be considered a sheep king in Wisconsin.
