N. company, which was gobbled up by interests which weie opposed to river navigation for business reasons, the stock will only be sold to friends of the Open River and a c'ause will be inserted providing that a share holder must give notice before selling his stock and give other stockholders the preference over other buyers. The sucker crop is not all harvested. II. Walter Davis and Miss Lola Maud Brown married in this city, Wednesday October 30, 1907, at the residence of the bride's parents. Judge T. W. Ayers officiating. Only a few intimate friendse were invited. Sim Carter, who owns the biggest threshing outfit in the county was in the city, Sunday. Mr. Carter has a 25 horse engine and a big thresher. He has already thresh ed about 60,000 sacks of grain this season. luere is still a large amount of wheat not threshed. Mr. Carter is now in the Hardman district. In speaking of the situa tion Mr. Caiter says: "In the Ilf rdman wheat district, you might say that threshing has just com menced. With the very best of luck and favorable weather, my outfit will be engaged for at least 20 days to finish the jobs in sight. I have now between 55 and GO set tiDgs. I have just moved from the northern part of the county where there are many scattering jobs left. 0viug to the scarcity of ma chines I don't see how these people are going to get their grain thresh ed."
