Memorial Sunday was quite appro
priately observed in this city on last
Sunday morning, when a union service
was held in the Christian church, in
which all the churches in the city par
ticipated in. Rev. Wright, of the Chris
tian church, delivered a very able and
patrotic address. Special music was
also a feature of the service.

Woolgrowers f Umatilla county,
threaten to boycott thu buyers on wool
sales day and pool their product and
send it East with a salesman to the
manufacturer, says a Pendleton dis
patch of recent date. Heretofore the
sheepmen have sold their wool on sales
day to the highest bidder, but there
was much dissatisfaction with the prices
paid last year. All tbe sellers are firm
in the belief that they were jobbed by
tbe buyers last year and tbat a combi
nation existed among the buyers on the
ground to bold the price down so that
they were paid a cent or two cents on
the average below what the price of the
wool in the East warranted.
