The Itemizer w'ishes them every joy in their wedded career that human life is heir to. In last week’s Itemizer we spoke of a Dallas business firm giving a large or der for goods, contingent on Taft’ s elec tion. We mentioned no names, but as the transaction , was soon known to nearly everyone and as the Itemizer de- i sires to l>e fair and impartial in all deal* I ings with its fellow man, we think it best to now give the facts as they oc- I curred. The firm was that of Guy Bros. ! and the order was given to a drummer for a lot of wire fencing. At the con- j elusion of the bargain, one of the firm I remarked, as he says in a joking way, that the order was to be c.im oiled if Bryan was elected. This wai overheard by two of our most reputable citizens, | democrats, and of course, made them j mad, and was soon known all over the city. We Itelieved then and so stated that the remark was onlv made as a I joke, but in the beat of the campaign it was not so taken. Now in justice to : Guy Bros., and to show they did not mean anything by the remark we ap pend two telegrams sent and received on the day of election, and which are in every way self-explanatory: Dallas, Oregon, Nov. 3, 1908.
