Many startling surprises in political
circles occurred last Tuesday all over the
United States, chief of which was the
large majority accorded Taft in New
York, and assuring his election. Hughes
also got in for governor by a large ma
jority. The Republican majority in the
lower bouse of Congress has been de
creased by about 20. Tom Johnson was
again elected governor of Minnesota.

Last evening at the residence of Mr.
and Mrs. J. D. Smith Rev. M. I*. Dixon
united in marriage Mr. Win. P. Mc-
Bee and Miss Clara Guy. A large num
ber of this popular young couple’s
friends and relatives were present to
witness the happy event. The Smith
residence was tastefuljy and appropri
ately decorated with ahtumnal beauties,
nicely arranged and designed. Little
Hattie Smith acted as flower girl. Af

lunch was served. The young couple

In last week’s Itemizer we spoke of a

by two of our most reputable citizens,

city. We Itelieved then and so stated
that the remark was onlv made as a

was not so taken. Now in justice to

mean anything by the remark we ap

on the day of election, and which are in
every way self-explanatory:
