Continued cool, partly cloudy wouth or, with showorn, has prevailed. The nights hiivc hucn very cool, sovorul fnvsjs occurring, which did no damage, A slight hail storm of small area oc currctl in Clackamas and Wnsco coun ties on the 28th, and in Washington county on the 27th. Snow foil on the Cascades on the 1 7th and 20th, also in Morrow county on tho 22d which mel ted as fast as it fell. Homo snow yet remains on the ground in Gilliam, Grant, Crook and Klamath counties In the mountains the snow has not yet commenced to melt. In parts of Ore gon tho ground freezes tit night and thaws in the day time. CliOl'H. The showers during tho week have kept tho soil very moist, so much so that in the Willamette valley spring seeding and plowing has been greatly retarded. Seeding is faither advanced in Southern Oregon, while in Umatilla county it is about one-half done. In Morrow county an unusually largo acreage will bo sown. Throughout all of Kastcrn Oregon tho boil is well mois tened and tho prospects for excellent crops are good. Throughout the state winter wheat is reported to have stood the winter well and to ho of good stand and color. There was very little froz en out. In Clackamas county tho wheat is six inches high. Gra.ss has a good start, but is some what slow in growth. In Yamhill county the acreage of oats, hay and fruit has increased, tho lattor very largely to. There is a slight shortago in winter wheat. Fruit is very backward. Tho season is very favorablo to it however, for it's being now retarded insures it against a possible late frost. Peaches, almonds and apricots aro in bloom in many sec tions ; pear and cherry buds aro swel ling. Currants, goose and strawberries aro in bloom. Fruit prospects are, in deed, very Mattering and if no unusual conditions ariso tho yiold will bo largo. The stock aro reported in goon con dition. Jhingo is good for them and thero has been little loss during tho winter. Tho lambing season is on and thero is very little loss roported. Loss rain would bo more beneficial to thorn, Tho spring wool clip promises to bo largo, clean and of good quality. liKAl.TII. Lagrippo is prevalent in 6omo sec tions but no deaths. Measles aro com mon in various counticB. Tho general health is, however, good. Tho general conditions of tho wouth or most needed aro warmth and sun shine with occasional showers. 11. S.
