The people are all pleased with the appointment of ollicers for Wallowa county, especially with that of Mr. House, of Alder, for superintendent of ' schools. It is to be hoped that we will have a rest from dancing and skating, for a time, as a great many of the country folke who have been taking advantage of die school in town this winter have pulled up stakes and pitched their tents in the lulls. ! School closed very pleasantly on the ) 25th ult. The night session was par i ticularly interesting. It consisted of recitations, of classes of the larger schol I lars, conducted by Drof. Pieiron, in his j own pleasing manner, and talks on I schools and education, by Prof's.
