He registered at tne New York Hotel. The r.extday he was f und dead in ths corridor of the hotel. He was an industrious Ger man, some forty 'yean f age, and "poor Schneider" was the heartfelt fe ling of this community, wheu the sad news arrived. Pleasant Hill lias been bought by a company of which Mr. Thornton and Dr. Santert, of l'o?e urjr, are prominent members, and taken to Portland where 1,000 worth of repairs have Deen m.ida on the same.
