A McKeesport, Pa., dispatch of last
week says: A boy and a girl named Ken
nedv were walking on the railroad track
in the third ward, when they were struck
by an engine and both killed. They were
not related to each other and both were
aged 17.
The people of Virginia and immediate
states are being attacked by a mysterious
disease, and die within a few days after
the attack, it is supposed to be minera
poison, caused by drinking water from
nearly dried up streams during the recent
drouth.

J. C. Fitzgerald, of Greenville, S. C, a
photographer, painter, pencil and brush
artist of considerable reputation in that
state, has invented a machine worked by
compressed air for instantaneous photog
raphy whereby a picture can be taken in
less than one-fifth of a second.
It is learned that the Colonel of the
Fifth Regiment, located in Cleveland, O.,
is enlisting a company for service in the
Hocking Valley, as the Governor has at
last concluded to call on the state militia.
The situation in the valley is growing des
perate, and bloodshed is feared.

field statue committee have decided upon
the circle at the point where Maryland
