Plesuke Trip ani Btjsiners. Mr. Jos. Cornelison, accompanied by his daughter, Miss Alice Cornelison, left Wednesday morning for Umatilla oounty. Mr. Cornelison has business interests in Umatilla, and while there will look after a large drove of sheep which be has had kept tho past winter in the alkali regions ot Eastern Oregon. Miss Alice accompanies him to visit her sistero, and for tho benefit of her health. We wish both a pleasant jour ney and safe return. . Life Insurance. Mr. J. L. It is with sorrow we announne the death of three of Aaron and Frances Rose's children John, Winnie aud Olivj. The first was aged 12, tlie other two, and the third nine years. They died of diphtheria, were buried in Jfa- sonicceme ry. Thochildren were bright aud handsome, and in their loss our citizens siucerely sympaihize with the founder of t-iis city aud his Inestima ble wife. It was reported on the st ee's that among a gang of Chinatnen sent south Tuesday was onevuffriug Ir m small pox, but upon investigation we a-Jijer tained that the report was without foundation.
