BATUUDAY .-NOVEMBER, , 1880 ; - SSOCK1XQ MCEBER. : A Gan Francisco dispatrh has the following: Last night a man namel Wheeler went to the city prison and said he had killed hia eister-isNlaw, Adcle Tillson, at No. 23 Kearney street. OfScera went to tho place and found the bedy of the girl packed away in a trunk. . According to Ilweler's .atory he had b"ealuttmate with Adele for some time, his wife knowing their relation. The family had been liv ing ia Cisco, but some days ago Wheeler and Adele came to Ban Francisco and took a room as man and wife. At Cisco Adele had become acquainted with Geo. On Tuesday morning, the 14tb this mouth, Johnny Echytt lett Ivanpah to make his first trip as mail-carrier between that camp and Resting Springs. Since that morning he has not been seen, the latest news from there bems: last Saturday. It will be remembered that the young man once Tefors lost his way upon the desert be tween Ivanpah and the Caves, ome time last spring, and when found was ia a miserable condi tion, having suffered intensely from thirst and the scorching rays of the sun. From this adventure ha has never folly recovered. Be lieving, however, that his strength would permit it, he started about three weeks since to resume his piace on the mail lino. He was elected to carry the mail between Ivanpah and Resting Springs, an untried route to him, but tho route is, we are assured, perfectly plain. At last accounts a large number of Indian traflers had been m search of him, together with some w hite men. Ted Nicnols, agent of the mail line, left to-day to as sist in the search. We amcerely trust that Johnny, wh t a gen ral favorite m onr town, may be fortunate enough to escape Irom his penlous situation. A large monument has been rected at Kahoka, Mo., with the following -inscription i "The Spencer family. We are all here, murdered with an ax, night of Aug. S, 1S77," at their home. Their bodies lie beneath this tomb, their virtues about it" It narks the spot where the five members of the Spencer family rere slain, and its dedication, with elaborate ceremonies, drew together 50,000 persons, so great had been the excitement over the crime. The deed was probably committed by one man, who ki)N ed his victim one after another as he came upon them ; but who he waa has never been ascertained. Bill Youne was hanged by a mob, but a jury had acquitted him, and there was nothing proven against him exceDt his bad character. His 1 last words were: "I am as innocent ; Of this thing' as the angels;" but ' the leaders of the lynchers replied: "You're a good roan to hang any how." Tin wife has now sued the county for 810,000 damages. Jay Gould paid the traveling ' expenses irom the Indian terri tory to Massachusetts, to attend & seminary, 15 young girl. About S o'clock th'n tftaraeoa I David Rosa, an old raatdant ct thia citv and in charge of the pile 1 driver now in use at the wharf at the navy yard in drawing oat piles, I met with a - friehttul accident, which will result in his death.
