That portion of our public high way known as Ncsmith'g lane deserves special attention by the authorities. A few weeks more and it will be almost impossible to trav el that lane. It is the main road leading from Dallas to Salem, and over which a daily mail must travel every day in the year, Sundays excepted. Ex Senator N esiuith is the owner' of tho land on each side of tho lane, und has already expended hundreds of dollars over and above his legitimate road tax, in graveling the lane j but it is too much to ask of one man to give to the public lator enough to mako a good road the whole length of tho lane, a dis tance of nearly two miles.
