A man by the name of Mc Morrow was arrested and brought before Jus tice Dempscy, of 'La Cled precinct, on Satur day on a charge of larceny preferred by Mr ''Kit" Zumwalt. Ho reports the school as progressing, and is sanguine that it is now a penuauent institution, Parties desiring to educate their children, can find no better school, and they may rest, assured that the Prof, is a man who will do everything to make rcbool life endurable to his scholars. - A Sorrowful Scene. On lat Sunday evening Mrs. Abigail Lee, consort of Wilson Lee, died at tbe residence ot Mr. Jhn Way mire, in this town, after a long and painful illness. On Monday, her funeral was, preached by Rev J. James, pastor of the M. E. Church. His text was taken from Job, 14th Chapter, 20th verse, and 'for an bour he spoke comfort to the relatives" and mourning friends. After the aermon, the lid was removed from the coffin and a last farewell was taken of tbe dear one.' The aged father and mother, their hair white with tbe frost of many winters, were jCmorig the last, and tbe scene was affecting in tbe extreme. Tbe mother, after taking along, iilent gaze ' into the face of her child, suddenly xdaimed, " Lord, I am ready. I long to go where my 'daughter is. Hallelujah, praise Ood that the time will not be long." The af fecting remarks of Rev. James, combined with those of the mother, made a lasting impression upon those present, and all were deeply over come even to tears. The remains were follow ed to the grave, by many friends, where tbe last sad rites srere performed; and more forci bly than ever was tbe command of our Savior presented" Be ye also ready." She is gone, and it can truly be said; "one knew her but po lore her; none named her but to praise Lex." Concert. Prof. Rutan and class gave a con cert at the Court House, on Thursday evening A large and appreciative audience were present and the performance was a decided success The Prof, closed bis term of singing school with this entertainment. During his labor here be advanced bis scholars -wonderfully, and now be leaves us for a time, knowing be has made many friends. A Good.Business. About sixty lodges of Spotted Tail's people crossed North Platte, go ing south. Nearly all the lodges, tits tempted to leave the Ited Cloud agency but were turned back by the chiefs and soldiers. Red Cloud sent a letter to the Northern Sioux, saying that he will not go to war with the whites. The Sioux must listen and not go to war with tho whites. Tbe heart -of the Great Father is good.!
