A Sorrowful Scene. On lat Sunday evening
Mrs. Abigail Lee, consort of Wilson Lee, died
at tbe residence ot Mr. Jhn Way mire, in this
town, after a long and painful illness. On
Monday, her funeral was, preached by Rev J.
James, pastor of the M. E. Church. His text
was taken from Job, 14th Chapter, 20th verse,
and 'for an bour he spoke comfort to the
relatives" and mourning friends. After the
aermon, the lid was removed from the coffin
and a last farewell was taken of tbe dear
one.' The aged father and mother, their hair
white with tbe frost of many winters, were

those of the mother, made a lasting impression
upon those present, and all were deeply over
come even to tears. The remains were follow
ed to the grave, by many friends, where tbe
last sad rites srere performed; and more forci

presented" Be ye also ready." She is gone,
and it can truly be said; "one knew her but
