At last accounts it had uot been resurrected, and prospects were it would not be. Like.many another public servant, it has done its work earletsly, withstanding the frowns oi eneniies, and the flatteries f friends, and has now sunk to rest where the silvery rippling of the beautiful Yamhill may sing an unceasing requiem. In fever and ague district the " shakes " of the community at the time when Quinine was in vogue, were sometimes summoned to their doses by the sound ofa horn ; but since Dr. Walker's Veg etable Yixbuar Bitters have superseded that dangerous drug as a specific for intermittent and remittent fevers, no such remedies is needed. The victims come of their own accord to receive their rations of that agreeable anJ matchless remedy, and in a few days a perfect .cure is ef fected. This mighty antidote is literally ex tinguishing periodical fevers, dyspepsia and bilious complaints, throughout the length and breadth of the land. In every nation ever known, in every race that has ever lived, in every age of this changing world, we find it. Every language known to man as now or here tofore spoken among the babblers of the earth, is constructed, iu accordance with it. In all ages men in dying nave looked on death, as simply the soul's putting off its tabernacle. There are exceptions, but they are so few that they hardly attract our attention, and do not destroy the practical accuracy of our statement, fho belief in immor tality is one of the uciyerl convictions of the raca.
