Imitation leather is also made from the same material, which i.s per fectly impervious to water. H is soft aud pliable, and is a useful fabric for covering furniture, making into shoej for belts, nnd many oilier purpose. In China atid Japan paper clothing has long been worn. by the inhabitants.
