The Hulkiin takes us to task for a seeming discrepancy in our Market Reports. As regards the price of wheat, we would say for the benefit of the Bulletin and others who may not understand our position, that Dallas is an inland town, and our mar ket reports, which arc published weekly, are the prices of the various commodi ties in our market. When we speak through our local columns of the prices current, we refer to prices paid at vari ous points along the Willamette lliver, where produce is purchased for ship ment. This we hope will be satisfac tory, as it must be plain to everyone that wheat, or any other commodity bought for shipment, cannot demand the same price a few miles back from the place of shipment as it would at the shipping point.. BUTLKRS IHSt'ISAT. Ben. Butler has been defeated by his opponent Washburn for the honors of Gov. of Masachusseta. He acqui esces in the verdict, and declares his intention to support the ticket. This, if he choose to accept it, may strengthen him for the next cam paign. In Luck.
