They had rather a rough trip, as they had to travel all the way from Kugene to the eoiist in an open bui -k board, and it raineU all thf time. They passed a party of surveyors, about twenty in number, engaged in locating a railroad over this route and were informed that there was no doubt but that the road would he built. The people of Siuslaw are very anxious to trade with Portland and are anxicuslv looking for the placing of a steamer on the route batween Portland and j Coos hay, when thev will have their goods sent to that place and will have a boat run from Siuslaw there. At present they procure 0i ids from San Francisco by way of Yapiina which is unsatisfactory on account of the delays which oc cur.
