Charles Cooper, of l'rineville,

a project for impioving it, returned
yesterday, from a viit to that
place. They had rather a rough
trip, as they had to travel all the
way from Kugene to the eoiist in

They passed a party of surveyors,

in locating a railroad over this
route and were informed that there
was no doubt but that the road

Siuslaw are very anxious to trade

Coos hay, when thev will have
their goods sent to that place and
will have a boat run from Siuslaw
there. At present they procure
0i ids from San Francisco by way
of Yapiina which is unsatisfactory
on account of the delays which oc
cur. The examining board held
a meeting yesterday to consider
the project they are to prepare but
did not airive at any conclusion.
