The third meeting of the con vention of Oiegon aheriffs will be held in Salem on the 20th of this month. It is a little suggestive that all the sheriffs should be gathered here as soon as the Ore gon solons come together, but it is a coincidence, not a necessity. The state board of commerce, com posed of delegates from every board of trade in Oregou, is to meet in this city on the loth. There will he 150 delegates in at tendance. Matter pertaining to the approbation by the legisla ture for Otegon's display at the Columbian exposition at Chicago, in '93, is the one of the subjects for action by this body. The meeting will be held in the opera house, ana the executive commit tee will ciine together atthe board ol trade rooms. Statesman. THE OBEQOK LEGISLATURE.
