A DISCREPANCY. A discrepancy has been discov ered between the tann bill as en rolled and passed by the house and conference report. It apears the errors are not substantial, and relates to the numbering of certain sections. 1 he conference commit tee in drawing up the report neglected to make allowance for tbe action of senate in striking out the vinegar sections, and carried the numbers forward. Trivial as were the errors, thev ifave much concern to the managers of the bill, and they are yet in doubt as to what course shall be pursued. Hi" cjnterence reinrt cannot be cli..ii''ed, and it will be found necebsiirv to correct the errors. This ill probably have to be done by loini resolution. The h.mse has agreed to a cur rent resolution directing the clerk ol the house to number consecu tively the paragraph of the en rolled tariff bid. M I'KDEKEK BIKCIMI.L. A writer on East India jugglery, there he tells us of the wou.iei.'ul trick of having the baby fall down from the clouds, containing his re markable narrative on the w onders of Oriental legerdemain, says : " It is impossible to fathom their secrets of working apparent miracles. These fellows have very scanty clothing and apparently no apparatus whatever. 1 have seen a man throw a number of balls into the air, each numbered from one upwards. As each .vent up, and there was no deception about their going up, it was seen clearly in the air getting smaller till it disappeared from view altogether. When they were all up, twenty or more, the operator would politely ask you which ball you w..nted to see, and then would shout out at the top of his voice, 'number one !' .'number seven !' number fifteen, " and so on, as nstiucted by the Siectators, when the ball deman ded would fall violently at his feet as though coming ftoni agreat height. 1 don't know any Anier ican, English or French sleight-of-hand performer that could equal that feat. Then, too, it is an auth enticated fact that some of these jugglers, on more than one occa sion in recent years, have suffered themselves to be buried alive, and have been dug out alive and well after the lapse of a year!" 1VIKK CLICKING.
