A strange and somewhat unac counted for accident occurred in the machine of George Smitt. while threshing on the (arm of Mrs. Allen near Eola a few days since. While the machine was running at her usual seed an explosion took place in the cylinder and a Came flashad out of the m uth oi the machine and set fire to the lee aide of the thresher, and it w as only by hard work that the thresh er and and threshed grain were saved. The cause of the explosion iit unknown. Senator Dolph has also been ma'le a member of the conference committee, and it is quite likelv that the senate in creases will be maintained.
