The hull and. fixtures of the wrecked Yaquiua Bay will proba bly be sold soon. One of the new scows for the government works is completed and was launched a few days ago. The Yaquina Republican says that it in expected that from 26 to 28 feet of water will be obtained on Yaquina bar this fall from the effect of the north jetty. The government work on tho north jetty is progressing rapidly. On tlonday three hoisting ma chines and three dnkey engines were taken dow n from Yaquina to the government wharf at Newport. The contract for furnishing steel rails aud iron for the tramway, alao for derricks and dump cars, has been awarded and the work will be vigorously prosecuted this summer. S'cw Counties. The Oregonian thinks that before many years there will be a divorce between the valley and coast por tions of Polk, Benton and proba bly Lane counties. There can be two new counties made south of Tillamook, extending to Coos county, that will be valuable and some time ouulous. Progress will be more rapid from now on than ever before and every section will require home privileges.
