One of the most remarkable declarations which he makes is his argument that the Mills' bill, if put into prac tical operation as a law, would increase the surplus over which the democrats pretend to be in such aonv. Another true and strong joint made by Mr. Randall is that the ZVEills bill projoses to tux the necessities of the poor and relieve from duty the luxuries of the riih. Some ot the comparisons of neces sities and luxuries made by Mr. Randall are herewith set forth : Olive oil for the rich, free. Castor oil for the poor, 07 per cent. Tin plates for monopolists, free, llice for everybody, 100 percent. Bone-black for sugar trust, free. Sugar for grocers, OS j)er cent. Mines and mining in Linn county is developing into mure than mere talk and inspecting. Albany and Portland cajital has been invested in several rich galena and silver ledges, which will be develojed and no doubt "be work on a paying basis. The gold mines owned by Brownsville j arties are also prov ing valuable. The wheat market has again suffered a decline and is down b 70 cents in this city. A little time will be required until the wheat is placed in the warehouses before the price will settle down to some thing stable. This price promises to be at least more than the above tigutes. Many farmers have al ready sold at 7-3 cents, which may be considered a fair jrice for wheat.
