The body of Leonard Gould, the boy who was drowned ut Allegany on Jan. 21st, w s h found yesterday in the river above the Coos Bay Cream ery. It is said that the body was first seen by one of the Blake boys of Allegany, who have been hunt ing for the body of their friend ever since hiB drowning, and it was secured and cared for by A1 Smith until the arrival of T. J. Lewis, the undertaker, who went over on the Alert and gave it needed attention, after which it was taken on the Alert to Allegany for burial. The body was in a remarkable state of preser vation considering the length of time it had been in the water, hav ing evidently been at least partially covered with sand by the freshet at the time of the drowning and un covered by the last one. A Close Call. Mrs. E. B. Seabrook was serious ly poisoned on Monday. It seems the family had a mess of spinach greens which Mrs. Seabrook was preparing for lunch and while do ing so she nibbled a few small pieces and before she had eaten several, she began feeling quite sick and began to have terrible pains iu her head and it was neces sary to call in a doctor and he im mediately noticed that she had symptoms of poison. A stomach pump was used and the patieut was relieved of the poisonous matter and was out of danger last evening and rested well during the night. The spinach was some that was shipped iu from California and it is supposed had been spraved by poisonous spray.—Coast Mail. Wlaiaf Is l.lt c ?
