Some citizens seem to be surprised At his companionships during the present campaign, but, pshaw, that’s nothiug; might as well stand np and be couuted with them as to go to bed with them. Attorney Minot, of Marshfield, was in this city last Wednesday on legal business. We hear it stated that Mr. M. isn’ t ns much of a Pop ulist ns he thought lie wns; his fervor for the cause of reform didn’t last him from one election to nuother, and he has gone back to the old love. That’s right; be one thing or another. An accident happened at Lyons’ mill near noon yesterday, at which the saw was broken into many pieces — how many is not known. Pieces of the saw scattered everywhere, but luckily hit no person. The dam age occurred while the saw was turn ing ¡it a high speed, the large log settling slightly, thus warping and crushing the saw nnd causing the pieces of all sizes to fly in all direc tions. A. Ttipre will be no “ fusion” of the Populists of (loos county with any ; other party on connty affairs. Any effort of parties to force a third or fourth successive nomination for | office is anti-populistic— the county convention will give ns a new and clenn ticket, and it will be elected; ¡or if it should away from its path l of doty and principle, nnd disobey the Distractions of the people at jtheir primaries, it will go into i “ iDocnoiis dessuetude” with the 1 author of the expression, Grover the Left.
