Bandon’s Budget. Additional Locals. BandoD, Feb. 15. —Mrs. Ed Oh- mau returned from the bay this week, where she had been under treatment for face and throat dis eases. I hear she is much better. The town dads are cansing some needed improvements to he doue in the way of street grading and buildiDg sidewalks. Let the good work go on. The parties that ore to take charge o f the lighthouse are here and are moving into their new quarters; everything will be in running order 60 on and Bandou will have one o f the best light- houses on the coast. While Prof. J. H. Barklow is away conducting the exnminatim, Miss Lelia Sumner is filling his place in the public school here. Lelia seems to know hqw things onght to he done, and is taking hold at the right place. That much talked of bridge across Gross creek ¡9 in a yery fair way to be built, The ,town- offers to furnish lumber and help has been subscribed to build it; the only thing lacking is a few dollars in money. Do it. POPULIST STATE TIOS. CONVEX- "T h e state central committee of the Populist pnrty met in Salem, Tuesday, with a good representa tion present. It was decided that the date of holding the state con vention should be changed from February 22d to Thursday, Starch 26th, at 1 o’clock p. m., and that the convention meet at Salem. The basis of representation was fixed at o n e delegate at large for each county and one delegate for each 100 votes or major fraction thereof cast in June, 1894, for the People’s party candidate for governor. It is recommended that in all counties w here county conventions have not been called, that county conventions he called for the purpose of elect in g delegates to said state conven tion at such time and place as may b e designated by the county ceutral committees of such counties. Prox ies to the state convention will not b e allowed unless the hearer thereof is a citizen of the county he as sum es to represent. Riverton Riotings. Riverton, Feb. 1G.— Ed Canter bury aud bride have moved to Riverton. They met a large num ber of their friends at Mr. Jack- son’s last Saturday eve.
