"T h e state central committee of
the Populist pnrty met in Salem,
Tuesday, with a good representa
tion present. It was decided that
the date of holding the state con
vention should be changed from
February 22d to Thursday, Starch
26th, at 1 o’clock p. m., and that
the convention meet at Salem. The
basis of representation was fixed at
o n e delegate at large for each
county and one delegate for each
100 votes or major fraction thereof
cast in June, 1894, for the People’s
party candidate for governor.
It
is recommended that in all counties
w here county conventions have not
been called, that county conventions
he called for the purpose of elect
in g delegates to said state conven
tion at such time and place as may
b e designated by the county ceutral
committees of such counties. Prox
