A grand exhibition was given by the Brewster Valley school lust Friday night, which wos well attended aud immensely successful. The program lasted full 4 hours, hut interest was kept up to the highest pilch throughout. After the program, the dance progressed till broad daylight. A delightful supper was prepared by the ladies of the neighborhood. Arthur Biown was the teacher of the school and lias made many friends amoug the patrons. The program consisted of songs, recitations, dia logues, tableaux, etc., and suited nil tastes from sedate to comical. The pupils are few in number and gen erally quite young, but performed splendidly. Those participating were: Edna, Roy, Myrtle, Mar shal and Rolla Alford; Ethel, Eva, Joe, Binger, Walter and Haley Laird: Ona aud Stella Harry. The following older persons par ticipated and added much to the snteitaiument: Mrs. Belle Laird, Mrs. E. N. Harry, E. D. Rev. S. S Biirklow passed up home yesterday from his visit at Bandon. The Sons of Veterans seem to hold back for some cuuse, and do not organize. Elder Barklow performed a marrnge ceremony at Bandon w hile visiting at that place. Several bales of goods from the Bandon woollen mills passed through yesterday for San Fran cisco. Miss Caroline Feiger of Bandon has been visiting Miss Pearl Baxter and other friends here for some days past. Revs. Sanderlin and Pauli con tinue their meetings at the Chris tian church nightly, with increas ing interest. The masquerade at Arago comes off next Saturday night, at Bullard’s ball.
