Lamb pre sided, and Secretary W. C. Bullard was present. Some few matters were inform ally discussed while the members aud applicants for membership were dropping in. The proceedings o f the former meeting were read and approved. A call was made for the reread ing of the proposition of the owner of the’Arago creamery to lease or sell the same to the Dairymen’s Union. Secretary Bullard read Mr. Schroeder’s proposition, which was in substance to lease the Harae for a term of fiye years or longer at #700 per annum, payable at stated periods; Mr. Scbroeder would pay the taxes, and the Union would pay the insurance, the plant to be re stored to the owner at the expira tion o f lease in as good condition as it had been received, or pur chased at tho bum o f #0000. i n l th e .lr u ilo n j . The exercises at the academy last Saturday night, including a literary and musical program, as also a joint discussion between members of the literary society of the academy and that at Fishtrap on the subject, “ Resolved, That men o f thought have been more beneficial to the world than men of action,” had a large and interested attendance, notwithstanding the weather was most inclement and one of the worst storms o f the winter was prevailing throughout.
