yesterday afternoon, as per adjourn

large attendance. J. J. Lamb pre

Union.
Secretary Bullard
read Mr.
Schroeder’s proposition, which was
in substance to lease the Harae for
a term of fiye years or longer at
#700 per annum, payable at stated
periods; Mr. Scbroeder would pay
the taxes, and the Union would pay
the insurance, the plant to be re

judgment is that we withhold our

Word reaches us that many cit
izens o f Marshfield and vicinity
now consent to and favor the estab
lishment c f the county seat at this
place. Coquille City is centrally
located, of right ought to be the
county seat, nud is now more read
ily and quickly accessible from
all parts of the county than any
other portion.
Would it not be
well to bold a town meeting and
take some action on this matter?
What is done should be done
quickly.
