Snyder went out Sunday afternoon and did as well as two men possibly could in a small boat, and that, too, at the peril o f their lives for w hich they deserve great credit, and good will o f all the many friends o f deceased, to recover the body, but without success. Mr. Simpson was an experienced fisherman having followed it for years on Eel river. H e did not know fear in any shape or form, and his family predicted years ago that he would drown by being too venturesome, when lie used to ven ture over Eel river bar when no one else would think o f it. Mr. Simpson came from Hum- lioldt county. California, nearly three years ago, aud he was a fa vorite with every one there, as well ns those w ith whom he had became acquainted here.
