Cakes, Fancy Breads, etc., as the contents of each tin is equal in every respect (for the abov» purpose) to four dozen of Eggs. It dispenses entirely with the use of Soda, Sal- eratus and Cream of Tartar, (t/.ree ingredients that are very apt to disagree with delicate stom achs), and is a friend to the dyspeptic, as it makes the food into which it is introduced, light and wholesome. It is entirely free from all mineral alk alii -'. s , and is recommended by the Faculty to those suffering from sour stomachs and impaired I digestion, or irregularity of the biliary secretions. A cloudless sky, the full-blown rose, leaves him unmoved, but the violet which hides its blushing beauties behind the bush, and the moon when she emerges from behind a cloud, are to him sources of inspiration an 1 pleasure. Modesty is to merit what shade is to figure in painting—it gives it boldness and prominence. Nothing adds more to female beauty than modesty ; it sheds aroun I tho countenance a halo of light which is borrowed from virtue. Botanists havo given the rosy hue which tinges the cup of tho white rose the name of “maiden blush.” Thia pure and delicate hue is the only paint Christian virgins should use ; it is the richest orna ment. A woman without modesty is like a faded flower diffusing an unwholesome odor, which the prudent garuerer will throw from him. Her destiny is melancholy, for it ter minates in shame aud repentance. Beauty passes like the albo, which blooms and dies in a few hoars ; but modesty gives the female ch arm 8 which supply the pfiice of the transi tory freshness of youth. H F <J o U.
