Hon EA Stewart of Port Orford passed through Bandon last Satur day on his return fro 11 Portland where he was one of the defendants in the case of the U S vs P F & L Co., and was fined $1,000. The many friends of Mr Stewart believe that the fine was an injustice as the only evidence the government had was a letter which he had written the company.
