Hon EA Stewart of Port Orford
passed through Bandon last Satur
day on his return fro 11 Portland
where he was one of the defendants
in the case of the U S vs P F & L
Co., and was fined $1,000. The
many friends of Mr Stewart believe
that the fine was an injustice as the
only evidence the government had
was a letter which he had written
the company. Mr Stewart warned
people not to borrow money or to
make any deals with the company
before they received their patent to
t ,e land.
