Construction of such a road will be begun immedi ately, involving an expenditure of $28,000,000, and backed by tueu witb $300,000,000 at tbeir command. At tbe bead of the enterprise, not as figureheads, but for actual finan cing and construction, are men well known in tbe world of railway affairs. A few who can be mentioned at tbis time are J. L Greatainger, New York, ex president of the Brooklyn Rapid Transit company; Senator William H. Lynn. New York; Baker & Crab tree, St, Louts bankers, connected witb tbe trust companies tbere in which brewers' capital is largely in vested. Within tbe next 30 days they will complete tbe organization in Oregon of a corporation that will lie known as the Oregou Coast A Eastern Railway Company, and this corporation will take over tbe entire project, wbicli is now in tLe bands of a syndicate made np of tbe men named and tbeir Wall street associ ates.
