The Grand Ronde area, as well as all of northwestern Oregon, enjoyed unseasonably pleasant weather in early to mid-October, with highs reaching the 70s and an unusual lack of rain. However, rain finally returned the week of Oct. 22-26 and helped strip trees of their colorful display. A container with a combination of chanterelle and lobster mushrooms was on display during a Mushroom Seminar held in the Elders Activity Center on Tuesday, Oct. 16.
