The sun shines through turning leaves along Hebo Road on Thursday,
Oct. 18. The Grand Ronde area, as well as all of northwestern Oregon,
enjoyed unseasonably pleasant weather in early to mid-October, with
highs reaching the 70s and an unusual lack of rain. However, rain
finally returned the week of Oct. 22-26 and helped strip trees of their
colorful display.
A container with a combination of chanterelle and lobster mushrooms
was on display during a Mushroom Seminar held in the Elders Activity
Center on Tuesday, Oct. 16. Participants learned how to identify edible
mushrooms and received suggestions on where to locate them.
