Training will be held May 9-11, 2017. This 10- credit hour course will cover basic concepts, as well as advance the skills of seasoned advocates in the field. The training is free of charge to those Tribal Veteran Representatives within tribal communities who are helping Veterans and their family members with VA benefits and services. The Parks and Recreation Program of The Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde, in cooperation with Oregon Youth Conservation Corps, is seeking three Natural Resources interns/youth crew leads for its Summer Youth Crew program. This is a great oppor- tunity to obtain supervisory experience and practice hands-on natural resource management techniques. F&W Intern/ Youth Crew Leader Position Start Date: June 12, 2017 Duration: 16 weeks, 40 hours/week End Date: Sept. 30, 2017 Pay: $11.50-$14.00/hr Duties: Supervise and provide leadership to an eight-person summer youth work crew for up to eight weeks and assist the Natural Resources Department for approximately six weeks. Projects may include stream and riparian restoration/enhancement, trail maintenance and construction, native vegetation plantings, habitat enhancement monitoring, wildlife monitoring and other natural re- source and community projects. Qualifications: Desire to work with youth and/or in natural resources. Must be able to work in rugged outdoor terrain. Experience in the proper use of hand tools. Good communication skills. Requirements: Work boots, valid Driver’s License, safe driving record. Must successfully complete pre-employment background check, drug test and moderate physical pack test. Must be able to at- tend 3-day, 3-night (June 20-23, 2017) teamwork and working with at-risk youth training in Bend, OR. Work Location: Natural Resources Office, Grand Ronde.
