Park Ave., Portland, from Friday, April 10, through Thursday, April 16. The movie follows the saga of Lyle, a Native American veteran who is burdened by survivor’s guilt following a disastrous mili- tary tour. He is forced to search for his missing grandfather, who disappears when an unknown federal organization takes over his ancestral homelands. The movie was filmed on the Navajo Nation in Arizona with additional filming occurring on the Makah Reservation in Neah Bay, Wash. The movie stars Navajo actor Edsel Pete as Lyle and Navajo code talker Thomas H. Begay as the grandfather. Writer and director Travis Holt Hamilton said he hopes it opens the door for future science fiction films with Native themes, a genre not yet well established. “I’ve had the idea to make a science fiction Native thriller for quite some time,” Hamilton said. “This story gave me the oppor- tunity to get in and work with a different style of filmmaking.” For show times, call the theater at 844-462-7342, ext. 327. n Committees plan meet- and-greet with providers The Tribe’s Social Services and Health committees will be holding a meet and greet with providers and the Sexual Assault Response Resource Circle from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 27, in the Elders Activity Center, 48940 Blacktail Drive.
