Smoke Signals 3 SEPTEMBER 1,2013 Tribe creates Enrollment Audit hotline The Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde has created an En rollment Audit hotline with which to collect frequently asked questions from the Tribal membership. The goal of the hotline is to develop a list of commonly asked questions regarding the audit information that was distributed in the April Tilixam Wawa. The answers to those questions will be published in an upcom ing Tilixam Wawa, as well as be distributed to the membership in an information packet. The team was organized by Accreditation Coordinator Jill Hafliger and helped by van driver Amie Moralez and volunteers Alton Butler, Crystal Pens and Valerie Carpenter. Encampment set for Sept. 6-8 in Central Point The Tribe will establish a Tribal encampment at TouVelle State Park in Central Point on Friday, Sept. 6, through Sunday, Sept. 8, to commemorate the Tribe's 1853 treaty signing at Table Rocks and the second anniversary of the Tribe's memorandum of understanding with the Bureau of Land Management and the Nature Conservancy. Apotluck dinner will be held at 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday and Tribal cultural demonstrations will occur from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. The demonstrations are free and open to the public. The Treaty with the Rogue River was signed at Table Rocks on Sept. 10, 1853. In 2011, the Tribe entered into a MOU with the Bureau of Land Management and Nature Conservancy regarding management of the Table Rocks area near Medford.
