Applications may be submitted to the Youth Education front desk during the week of April 29th to May 3rd from 8:00am to 5:00pm. This week of enrollment into the program is open to all current K-5th grade Tribal, Native and direct-descendant youth whose parents or guardians who will be employed, registered in school or participating in a training program during the summer. months. For more Information ' JT"" , 26 27 28 29 30 31 LIBRARY HOURS: Monday - Friday: 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. (closed Monday - Friday: noon - 1 p.m.) Saturday: 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. National Library Week is April 14-20 this year. The Tribal Library will sponsor the annual Literary Trivia contest and library visitors may enter to win a prize each day they visit the library during National Library Week. The drawing will be held on Mon day, April 22, which is Earth Day. National Poetry Month: April is National Poetry Month. In recognition, Tribal Library staff will post "A Poem a Day" on the bulletin board each day of April. We are accepting recom mendations of poems to post, so come in and let us know what your favorite poem is and it may be one selected for display in the library this month. Tribal Library Summer Program: This year's theme is "DIG Into Reading." The library's summer programs will run June 17 to July 31. Registration is required for the Reading Incentive Pro gram. Application forms and summer program information will be available on April 27 at the annual Healthy Families Event held on campus and at the gym along with activity session calendars. Visit the Tribal Library table at the gym to sign up early. Library Volunteer Recruitment: The Tribal Library has two volunteer positions available. Volunteer duties include general library and collection maintenance and working on special proj ects in the library. An application, screening and orientation are required before volunteer placement. Library Tutorials Program Are you unfamiliar or uncomfortable with computers? Are you " interested in learning how to use a computer or look for informa tion on the Internet? Every Thursday at 2 and 4 p.m., Library staff is offering individual learning assistance to community members on the selected topics of: Entry-level Computer Basics with Windows 7; How to Use the Internet with Internet Explorer 9; How to use Online E-mail with Gmail (new!); How to use the CTGR Online Library Catalog (new!). Individual presentations last between 30 to 60 minutes depend ing on prior knowledge, after which further questions can be answered or topics reviewed and clarified. Tutorials are limited to one person per session (exception for couples) so registration is first-come, first-served. The library also has physical tutorial guides on hand for any patron to request a copy of for personal use, as well as reference materials on other computer-related topics. Tutorials also can be mailede-mailed for long-distance or independent learners.
