It -4 K-12 Parent Committee meets The monthly K-12 Parent Committee meetings are held the last Wednes day of the month from September through June. From noon to 1 p.m., lunch pre pared by the Tribal Mak MakHaws will be served at the Tribal Commu nity Center, across from the West Valley Veterans' Memorial on the Tribal campus. Lunch will include lasagna, mixed vegetables, fruit and green salad, dinner roll, cake and drinks. The official Memorial Day program begins at 1 p.m. at the Steve Bobb Sr.-designed memorial and will fea ture local, regional and statewide dignitaries also have been invited. Congressman David Wu is sending a letter to be read at the event. Twenty-seven new names, six of them of Tribal members, will be unveiled on the memorial's black marble surfaces during the ceremony. A feather, signifying Tribal membership, was added to Wilson S. Bobb Jr.'s name for the "-upcoming observance, though his name previously was included on the memorial. Members of the Grand Ronde Tribal Council, Elders, Grand Ronde Royalty and the Grand Ronde Canoe Family all are sched uled to participate. The Grand Ronde Honor Guard and the Tribal Public Affairs Of fice are coordinating this year's event. B 27 names being added to memorial Twenty-seven names, including six Grand Ronde Tribal members, are being added this year to the four granite columns of the West Valley Veterans' Memorial on the Grand Ronde Tribal campus. They are: Navy: John E. Alldredge, F. Marion Amerine, Tribal member Ronald A. Bly, Tribal member E. Glen Davis, Emery V. Hilderbrandt, Ray mond E. Locke, Ann M. Ru nyan, James L. Stone, Tribal member Eirik E. Thorsgard and Robert D. White. Army: Tribal member Marvin L. Davis, Arthur S. DeHart, Vernon A. Edwards, Tribal member Peter M. Har ris, Bruce R. Lattin, F. Lee Lembkie, Steve C. Loran, Wilfred W. Piller and Casimir A. Zakaras. Marines: James H. Kamp mann, Jimmy L. Laker, Craig L. Lambert, Duane L. Nicker son and Michael L. Nolen. Air Force: Al Fast Thun der, Tribal member Henry D. Leuthauser and Billy D. Pratt. In addition, a feather is being added to the name of Wilson S. Bobb Jr. on the Army column to signify that he is a Grand Ronde Tribal member. Come join us at Culture Nights every other Monday of the month I TV On the first Monday we will meet at the Community Center to learn to weave, sew, and bead and get to know more about what's going on in the community.
